Pompeii is well known being called 'the lost city'. The city of Pompeii was an ancient Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania. This is known as the 'lost city' as it was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, but recently people living on top of the buried land was building water pipes and found all of this weird buildings. The ash created a a nice preserving layer of thickness so its still like it was from when it was destroyed and seen last which is really amazing and makes it way more easier for scientist to find out everything about the time. At that time people were either salves or leaders no in between; so there education on what they thought was a 'mountain' was very weak so the were just confused on all the roars from what we know now is a volcano. As myths and legends passed they believed it was their lord volcan stretching or warning them. As the lava was very viscus and extremely hot, when touched to the human body it swallows it up and makes a mold but the insides are burnt to thin air , the blood being evaporated as well. Before the lava an ash cloud formed. An ash cloud is a very thick cloud, like dry soil, and when surrounded by it it would feel like being buried alive and breathing in soil. In the ash cloud was an acidic gas called sophomoric acid when inside our body it burns our insides out which was the answer to most of the deaths that occurred at this time. Other people were shown that they drank poison to not experience the harmful side affects. The volcano that erupted is called mount Vesuvius and is still on site with most of it found and still in place in an open museum in Pompeii. When first discovered it was a major shocker so people put in the effort on making a film just to experience the fright of it in actual life.
